Flinders University and St. Peter's College are offering an Industry PhD Scholarship to conduct cutting-edge research on how integrated athletic development 2023 Flinders University PhD Scholarship for International Students  programmes effect school-aged students' physical development. You can put your research abilities to use while working as an intern at St. Peter's College.

The College of Education, Psychology and Social Work and St. Peter's College are collaborating on this study project to compare the physical literacy of students at St. Peter's College to students who do not take part in athletic development programmes.

$33,000 per year (2023 full-time rate, adjusted annually) of tax-free income for a maximum of 3.5 years.

Requirements for the Flinders University/St Peter's College PhD Scholarship Qualification

You need the following in order to be eligible for the Scholarship:


to be a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, or a permanent resident; to have, or be qualified for, a valid overseas visa; and

present proof of analogous research experiences, such as refereed publications or considerable experience as a lead researcher, in order to be admitted to the PhD programme at Flinders University; and Candidates for scholarships are expected to start their studies as soon as is practical, up to three months after receiving the scholarship, and within a time frame decided by the Office of Graduate Research in consultation with the industrial partner.  In exceptional circumstances, this time frame may be extended to six months with the concurrence of the University and the industrial partner.

completed postgraduate education in sport and exercise science (Strength & Conditioning) (Bachelor's degree with Honours class 1 or 2A Graduate Diploma or Masters degree by coursework with a research component of at least 18 units, with an average GPA of at least 6 in the research component).

possess, or be willing to obtain, a working with children check, a national police criminal history check, and the Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN)-EC training.

possess active accreditation from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association at the Level 1 or above

It would be ideal for applicants to also possess

successfully completed a postgraduate programme in sport and exercise science (Strength & Conditioning) (Bachelor's degree with Honours class 1 or 2A Graduate Diploma or Masters degree by coursework with a research component of at least 18 units, with an average GPA of at least 6 in the research component).

For applicants, it would be nice if they also possessed

Experience coaching strength and conditioning in a school or athletic setting for a minimum of six months (or the equivalent in part-time work).
